Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am honored, humbled, and excited to be joining Unity Concord International School as the Secondary School Principal. With twenty-seven years as an educator, including time spent in the classroom as a teacher and recently as an administrator, I am thrilled at the opportunity to be part of this wonderful community.

As you will come to know, I am passionate about education and possess a wide range of classroom and administrative experience. During my interview process I recognized how the community has embraced the school’s mission and values which aligned with my educational philosophy. Everyone I spoke with seemed to value and celebrate the journey of learning. On my visit I observed teachers guiding lessons, students working collaboratively in groups; and, I was struck by how all the teachers and support staff worked to create a community that encouraged students to question and stretch their thinking.

There is truly an incredible amount of life here at Unity Concord International School. Making such a transition at this time of the year may have caused you some concern, and on behalf of the school leadership, I assure you that John and I are committed to having a seamless transition that will maintain the high standards of academics and school culture set by our school’s mission. As I continue to transition into my new role, I look forward to establishing a positive rapport with all members of the school community. In an effort to allow you to know more about me and my background, I have scheduled a “Parent Meet and Greet” on January 19th at 8:30. The purpose is to share more about my background experiences, and my vision for the Secondary School as we embark on our journey together. Following a brief presentation there will be time for a “Question and Answer” so I can hear from you all directly. Thank you in advance, I look forward to seeing you at the “Parent Meet and Greet”

Coffee with the Principals Dates

Coffee with the Principals is a monthly meeting that is held to encourage dialogue and improve communication amongst the members of our school community and to provide opportunities for parents to contribute to the school as a whole. All parents are welcome to attend. These meetings are also held in order to support the creation of a culture that is academically rigorous, but also emotionally and socially nurturing as UCIS looks to create proficient communicators, investigative problem solvers, diligent scholars, and ethical and honest students who are adept researchers.


Coffee with the Principals also strives to offer a structure to connect parents to the volunteer needs of the school. These opportunities are determined through committee work and a collaborative mission to continually improve the school as it strives to meet its mission and vision.


This community-based approach allows us to engage in school improvements year-round so that the students and school benefit from a rich, multicultural experience.


Together we can all accomplish the Unity Concord International School mission to prepare students for lives of purpose, service, and leadership by stimulating an intellectual, cultural, spiritual, and social learning environment, motivated by love for others.
